The history of Horsehay is strongly linked to the growth of nearby Coalbrookdale, with records showing the first Horsehay blast furnace in use as early as 1755.
The first cast iron railway in Horsehay was established in 1769 to serve the various Coalbrookdale works and was essential in the operation of the largest iron works in the world. The railway line is still in use today, albeit offering a totally different service. The Telford Steam Railway is open to the public with a varied timetable of leisure events for all the family.
Horsehay is now an established village benefiting from village pubs, a picturesque tree-lined pond and a nearby Village Golf Centre. Ash Tree Park offers a combination of a luxurious living environment in an attractive semi-rural location.
