Last week, we visited Carole and Dennis at their lovely Abbey House at Whitehall Gardens, Shrewsbury, to see how they’ve been enjoying their new home.
Having lived in the village of Brockton for 28 years, Carole and Dennis decided it was time for them to move closer to the centre of a town, and began their search for their ideal home in Shrewsbury.
With vicinity to the centre of town being the most important factor in their search, Whitehall Gardens provided the perfect location for Carole and Dennis, just a 20-minute walk into the centre as well as being conveniently located on a bus route. They told us “it’s great being able to get straight into town, we can just walk straight to the cinema and theatre. Previously we would have to drive for 30 minutes, which was difficult in the dark after the theatre. We like going out for meals, and there’s always a lot going on in the town.”
Carole and Dennis also loved Whitehall Gardens for its links to Shrewsbury’s rich history, choosing their plot specifically for its proximity to the impressive dovecote, originally constructed in the 16th century and still in its beautiful original state, and the historical wall to the rear of their garden.
They chose the Abbey House as they wanted their
home to have a garage, and also for the larger room sizes, particularly throughout the bedrooms. Since living in their home for seven weeks, their favourite rooms are “the kitchen and the living room, although we have downsized it still feels so spacious. We love sitting on the sofa in the living room and looking out of the balcony.”
Speaking on their customer journey, Carole and Dennis described how “everyone was so helpful all the time, really amazing and very patient, Shayma in the beginning and then Emma [Sales Executives] were both so nice. We still pop in to see Emma for a chat! Liam [Site Manager] is really helpful, he was always around if we wanted to have a look or ask questions. It’s interesting to watch everyone working on site and they’re all very respectful.”
When asked if they would purchase from us again, and recommend us to friends and family, Carole and Dennis said, “this is our forever home, we’re very happy here and hoping three floors will help keep us fit! If we see people looking around the development we tell them how much we love it, we would definitely recommend.”
