Many Shropshire Homes house benefit from an energy efficiency rating of a high B, as well as an Environmental Impact Rating of a high B, meaning your new home is kinder to the environment and cheaper to run!
According to the House Builder Federation, new build homes emit 65% less carbon a year than the average older property, due to better insulation and more efficient electric heating methods.
At Shropshire Homes, our houses are heated by air source heat pumps, which work by transferring heat from the outside air to the water in your central heating system. This is a highly efficient way of heating the home, and produces less emissions than traditional gas systems.
We also equip each home with a private EV charger as standard, encouraging greener transport by making it easier to charge electric vehicles at home.
In addition, when we build your new home all materials used are sourced from sustainable organisations and, where possible, supplied by local companies – meaning you can rest assured we use the highest quality with the lowest carbon footprint and environmental impact.
How does an energy efficient home benefit you?
The average new build homeowner saves almost £1000 a year on utility bills for heating, hot water and lighting, a huge 50% saving compared to those living in older properties.
New build homes also entitle you to be considered for a Green mortgage, which our panel financial advisors will be able to assist you with.
So, what is a Green mortgage? Essentially, a Green mortgage means the lender will take into consideration the lower energy costs the buyer will be paying for their home, which will increase their affordability and result in them offering the buyer a lower interest rate. In some cases, the lender will offer cash back, which is perfect for helping with the buyer's move, or adding a touch of style to their new dream home!
