We visited Katie & Oliver in their beautiful Belgrave at Foundry Point, Whitchurch, one year after completing on their first home, to see how they’ve been enjoying their time as homeowners!
Katie & Oliver previously lived in a rented one-bedroom flat, and were looking for a little extra space as well as wanting to own their home instead of renting. They were drawn to Foundry Point for its location – “the development is gorgeous, it’s not too far to walk into town but it’s quiet enough that you don’t hear anything, it’s always so peaceful.”
As first-time buyers, Katie & Oliver told us they were expecting the buying process to be “more complicated than it was, but we found everything so easy. It was such a quick process and everyone was so helpful.” They also added “Shropshire Homes gave us opportunities as first-time buyers that lots of other places don’t, they really care about helping people get onto the property ladder.”
Katie & Oliver received a £5,000 cashback incentive when purchasing their Belgrave, which they used towards furniture for their new home, and said really helped to give them a boost towards making their home their own. The support from Sales Executive Ruth and Site Manager Phil was the highlight of Katie & Oliver’s customer journey - “they were both so helpful and friendly, they really couldn’t do enough for us, they made the whole process so easy.”
Their favourite part of their home is the garden – having previously lived in a flat, it’s the first time they’ve had an outdoor space to call their own. It also allowed Oliver to surprise Katie with their lovely dog Luna, just two weeks after completing on the home! They told us “we’ve always wanted a dog and were never been able to have one before being in a flat, owning your own home just gives you that level of independence, it’s been a massive achievement for us especially doing it so young.”
