Our team members are often celebrated for going above and beyond, and Jake Edwards is no exception to this rule. Achieving a Distinction in his Level Two Site Carpentry Apprenticeship at Shrewsbury College, Jake Edwards has excelled on site and in college.
Jake joined Shropshire Homes in August 2021 as an apprentice and has progressed through his journey completing his course, with the help of mentors Piers Onions, Adam Grundmanis and Nick Parton, all of whom Jake wishes to thank for their support, tools and wealth of skills he now has under his toolbelt! ‘’When people join the Shropshire Homes' team, they come for a career and not just a job.’’
Jake extended his thanks to our dedicated Site Managers and particularly Ian Lawson (Training Manager) for supporting him through his studies.
On asking Jake about his decision to join us as an apprentice, he said “I really enjoy practical work and I’m glad I chose to do carpentry. I would like to stay in carpentry, it’s a great job and I really enjoy the work and the people I work with… The team at Shropshire Homes have all been great to work with, I feel really lucky to have been given the opportunity to start my carpentry career here.”
It is truly rewarding for the team at Shropshire Homes to see the progress and contributions our apprentices make. A huge well done to Jake – keep up the good work!
