This week is Women in Construction Week, and we’re proud that women make up 31% of our team, compared to a UK industry average of 15%.
To celebrate, we’ve talked to Senior Sales Executive Ruth about her career in the construction industry.
Ruth began her professional career as a Legal Executive in construction, but has always had an interest in the sales element of the job. Having worked at Shropshire Homes since 2022 as a Sales Executive, Ruth was recently promoted to Senior Sales Executive following four years of incredibly hard work across a number of our developments.
Completing her training at Crudgington Fields and Woodhouse Farm, Ruth moved on to sell her own developments at Forest Edge and Foundry Point, and is currently at our Mytton Oak Manor development in Shrewsbury.
When asked about her favourite parts of her job, Ruth was quick to express her love for the variety in her job as no two days are ever the same, but she particularly loves facilitating our Customer Journey: “I really enjoy spending time with the customers and making their dreams become reality buying a new home with us […] seeing people start their journey with us from choosing their plot to the end result of seeing them move into their beautiful home, which we have helped them make their own.”
Being a part of the Shropshire Homes team is another element of her job that Ruth loves: “Working here is like being part of a big family, we all link together in all departments. Shropshire Homes as a Company have great values and they really value their staff and the loyalty that comes with that hand in hand. We are very well supported and looked after by the Directors and their teams.”
Ruth is looking forward to the new challenges her role as Senior Sales Executive will bring, while maintaining her incredible high standards that earned her the promotion: “I’m excited to be continuing to sell houses and support the customers every step of their journey with us, as well as supporting any of the staff who may need it as that support was given to me in the beginning of my career.”
A huge congratulations to Ruth for all of her hard work, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you in your new role!
