Work is taking shape in Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury, to create an exciting new community.
Eighty-six homes are being built off the Hall Bank road and the developer, Shropshire Homes, anticipates that the first few properties will be available to move into early next summer. The collection of two, three and four-bedroom houses and bungalows are located close to the centre of the village, and the development will include a Co-op store, community hub with space for a library and new premises for The Ark Day Nursery.
Andrew Sheldon, land manager for Shropshire Homes, said the village square and green at the centre of the site will also be a great addition. “This is an exciting development for Pontesbury and the creation of the purpose-built community building is the result of working closely with the parish council to agree the design.
“Shropshire Homes has also agreed the sale of a parcel of land to the Co-op to provide a new local store. Additionally, the Ark Day Nursery will be relocating from its current outdated premises into a purpose designed new home.
“We would all like to thank the people who work and live in Pontesbury, along with councillors and the parish council. During the time that we had to close the road for work on the development we didn’t receive one complaint.”
