Professional footballer Dave Edwards will be leading the Christmas celebrations at one of Shrewsbury’s historic landmark buildings.
The Carols ‘round the Tree event at Leighton Park will see a lights switch on taking place outside the stunning Central Hall at this impressive development in Bicton Heath. On Monday, December 2nd from 6pm to 7pm there will be mulled wine, mince pies and a choir as well as a switch on of the Christmas Tree lights by Shrewsbury Town midfielder Dave Edwards.
The event is being organised by Shropshire Homes, which is behind the transformation of Leighton Park with its stunning range of houses and apartments. The Heritage Buildings form the centre of this development, which sits in beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. The buildings were the site of the former Shelton hospital, and Shropshire Homes are looking forward to lighting up the tree outside the building’s impressive Central Hall.
Sophie Brooks, at Shropshire Homes, said they were excited to be bringing Christmas back to this magical development. “So many visitors to Leighton Park are stunned by its beautiful Grade II Listed buildings, and to be bringing Christmas back to this iconic building is wonderful,” she said. “We are thrilled to say that footballer Dave Edwards will be pressing the button to light up the magnificent 10ft Christmas Tree at the event. We are looking forward to welcoming families from across Shrewsbury and beyond to join us in seeing Central Hall at Leighton Park lit up at this exciting event.”
