Clare and Ed were some of the first purchasers to move into The Beeches in Ironbridge, converted from the beautiful Victorian building at the former Beeches hospital. Ten months later, they have settled in perfectly and welcomed us to pay them a visit to find out about their experience; from visiting the site on the open day, choosing a plot and watching the renovations unfold, to finally moving in and making The Beeches their home.
“We knew that we wanted to live in Ironbridge and started spending a lot of our time at weekends venturing into the town to enjoy the views, cafes, restaurants and bars. Ironbridge has such a wonderful vibe and you cannot walk anywhere without somebody saying hello or stopping for a chat!
We found the details for the opening day, as we knew that The Beeches would be perfectly situated for us to walk into Ironbridge but still be tucked away from the hustle and bustle next to a beautiful nature reserve.
The sales team at Shropshire Homes have been great at guiding us through the whole process. It can be challenging to buy off plan, and you do need a bit of imagination when viewing a renovation. We were so excited to see the transformation the house went through from start to finish. The sales team talked us through all stages, discussed our options thoroughly and were always available for any questions we had.
It has been wonderful seeing the development progress and watching each phase being restored. The tree-lined drive up to the development still makes us smile and the unique style of buildings with their preserved period features makes it feel very special. We are lucky to have such lovely neighbours here who all look out for each other, including sharing plant cuttings and samples of home grown produce! The community we have here is fantastic.
Our new home has so much history, which was really interesting to learn. We feel that we have all the benefits of a house with bags of character and unique features, plus a lovely modern interior. We love the fact that Shropshire Homes have been very sympathetic to the character of the house, maintaining its amazing features throughout the renovation.”
There are now only a handful of properties left at The Beeches, viewing available exclusively by appointment.
