Looking to move closer to family and upsize, Justin and Julia found their dream home, the Windermere at Orleton Fields. Having lived in the East of England for many years, Julia and Justin were delighted by how much more house they could get for their money in the beautiful village of Orleton, Herefordshire.

Moving into their new home in November, they’ve now had some time to settle in, so our Marketing Manager, Rebecca, paid them a visit to find out how they they’re getting on and hear all about their experience with Shropshire Homes!

The Customer Journey with Shropshire Homes

As mentioned earlier in the article, Julia and Justin chose the area due to wanting to move closer to family. However, they were still tasked with finding their dream home in the region. Keen to buy a new build due to the energy efficiency and many benefits that new builds provide, Julia and Justin visited countless house builder’s sales centres and show homes, and found that Shropshire Homes’ quality and standard specification shone above the rest.

Following their initial visit to Shropshire Homes’ Orleton Fields development, the couple found themselves perusing through our website, social media and YouTube, researching the different house types and checking online reviews. Finally, their decision was made – the Windermere at Orleton Fields was their forever home!

During the buying process, the couple found Shropshire Homes’ customer journey smooth and thorough with Julia commenting, “I loved choosing our own finishes, it truly feels like our home, we just love it!”.

Julia and Justin also thanked Site Manager, Ed and his site team for being so fantastic and helpful throughout the process, as well as Sales Executive, Sue, and Shropshire Homes’ wider team.

Their Home: The Windermere

Their dream home, the Windermere from Shropshire Homes’ Prestige Collection, is a five-bedroom detached home with a separate double garage, boasting our highest specification as standard, including a feature log-burner, underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, rainfall showers, quartz worktops in the kitchen, 3-in-1 tap, and a wine cooler – just to name a few!

On asking Julia and Justin what they love most about their home, Julia said “The space, it is free-flowing, and the kitchen, we love that the kitchen can have everyone in!

“It ticks all the boxes, it has everything we could want, even a stream in the garden! It’s got everything my fantasy house had in it growing up.”

Justin added, “The quality of the home and finishes as well.”

The Development: Orleton Fields

Orleton Fields development includes an attractive collection of twenty-five homes within ten house types from Shropshire Homes’ Legacy, Classic and Prestige Collections.

The couple love how safe Orleton Fields development feels with everyone looking out for each other and kids playing outside. Having two children aged 2 & 6, finding somewhere nice and safe for them to grow up was important to the couple. Julia commented, “It feels old fashioned in a good way, with kids playing on the streets and neighbours looking out for one another”.

Moving to the country has brought many benefits to the family, but one aspect they hadn’t considered was the increase in lovely wildlife, often sighting birds of prey, red kits and owls, as well as being able to see the stars clearly at night – dreamy!

The Local Area: Orleton and Surrounding

The village of Orleton is situated in Herefordshire, just over the Shropshire border. The area initially appealed to Justin and Julia due to Julia’s sister living nearby. However, on closer inspection, they were particularly drawn to Orleton, mentioning, “Orleton Primary School is fantastic, the class sizes are much smaller than our son’s previous school and he is doing very well there!”.

Julia and Justin were also won over by the small community feel of Orleton, and since moving to the village they absolutely love it and stated they have no regrets whatsoever, commenting “Everyone is so friendly and you speak to so many people every day – there is lots of tea and cake, you either need to make cake or eat it to live in Orleton!”

Julia and Justin both gushed over the local village shop and Post Office, shouting about its fresh baked pastries and its variety of supplies. With Ludlow, Leominster and Hereford nearby, there is also an abundance of options for shopping just a short drive-away.  The local pub, the Boot is owned by the Orleton community and the residents of Orleton Fields regularly partake in a steak night there.

Similarly, the community centre always has events on and something for everyone! Nearby, in the village of Richards Castle, there is a monthly themed food night for all the family.

Thank you to Julia and Justin

A huge thank you to Julia and Justin for inviting us into your home, it was truly wonderful to see how happy you are in the Windermere and local area! We wish you all the best in your forever home.

As part of this article, Julia and Justin have chosen to donate £150 towards Orleton Pre-School's supplies, which is very generous of them!
