A local group of residents at Shropshire Homes’ Quarry Place development recently purchased land from Shropshire Homes to maintain as a meadow for the benefit of the local community.
The local residents created a group called the Community Interest Company (CIC) with an aim to purchase Castle View Terrace, a meadow owned by Shropshire Homes set above Quarry Place development, just off Fishmore Road in Ludlow.
Andy Sheldon, Land Director at Shropshire Homes, liaised with the CIC directors regarding the purchase of the meadow. Peter Roberts and Tish Dockerty, Directors of the CIC said “We’re grateful to the many individuals and organisations who supported us throughout, and particularly to those who have contributed to the purchase and the ongoing upkeep of the meadow. Shropshire Homes Director, Andy Sheldon, also acted responsibly and fairly to ensure the purchase went through smoothly and that the meadow remained in good condition throughout”.
Peter Roberts, Director of the CIC also commented “I think Shropshire Homes acted honourably and graciously in making the meadow available to the community, and really facilitated the process that enabled its preservation as a wildflower haven for the future”.
Peter Roberts also gave a special thank you to Andy Sheldon for his “prompt, cheerful and helpful responses”.
