Shropshire Homes has a longstanding relationship with Shrewsbury Town Football Club (STFC) and last month, STFC updated their away kit, which features Shropshire Homes’ logo.
Shropshire Homes began sponsoring STFC in 1986 and has continued sponsoring the club ever since then. Howard Thorne, Chairman of Shropshire Homes, and Phil Northwood who was previously a Company Director, were avid STFC fans and decided they wanted to start promoting Shropshire Homes more, so what better way to do this than support the football club they loved so dearly!

The first game Shropshire Homes sponsored was Shrewsbury vs. Chelsea (0-1) with over 14,000 people in the crowd (pictured is a framed copy of the programme from the game, which sits proudly in Howard’s office).
On speaking to Howard about the new away kit and what he loves most about the club, he said “It’s a great and dramatic kit for the club. It shows the Shropshire Homes logo really well too.
“What do I love most about the club? Well, it is a community football club run by local people and hasn’t been spoiled by large external investors”.
Howard and Gerald Rogers, Construction Director of Shropshire Homes (pictured below), amongst employees and subcontractors of the company are devoted supporters and continue to attend most home games. Long may the relationship between Shrewsbury Town Football Club and Shropshire Homes continue to thrive into the foreseeable future!
STFC also partners with Shrewsbury Town in the Community, a charity who provide the local community with opportunities to achieve their goals and realise their potential. The charity which Howard is the Chair of Trustees for, fundraises to provide these opportunities for the community through all different types of ways (see more: https://www.foundationstfc.co.uk/).
