Last week, Shropshire Homes celebrated the relaunch of our bespoke gated development in the heart of Shrewsbury, Whitehall Gardens.
Located in Abbey Foregate, Whitehall Gardens is an incredible collection of 3 & 4 bedroom bespoke new homes, and 7 characterfully converted 1 & 2 bedroom cottages.
The converted cottages will be another incredible example of Shropshire Homes’ craftsmanship in renovations, as recently seen at the conversion of The Beeches, Ironbridge, Chaddeslode Gardens, Shrewsbury, St George’s Mansions, Stafford, and Leighton Park, Shrewsbury.
Whitehall cottages were originally built in the 18th century as stables in the grounds of Whitehall Mansion, expanded over three phases of construction to the structure that exists today. They will be converted into 7 individual cottage plots, each maintaining a range of original features, such as exposed timber beams, vaulted ceilings with timber purlins, and even an original staircase!
The remainder of the development will also retain many historical features, including the original wall of the Mansion’s walled garden, and the impressive dovecote.
The dovecote was constructed in the 16th century, and is still in its original state, complete with nesting holes and the revolving ladder, which is still in working order. The dovecote is not planned for renovation, but will undergo necessary structural repairs and then be left as a stunning historical feature in the open space of the development.
The 18 new homes are newly designed and bespoke to Whitehall Gardens, comprised of four beautiful house types. With impressive frontages, exquisite design and luxury specification, the new homes are truly special, and the perfect complement to the historical features of the development.
