Independent property developer, Shropshire Homes Ltd have stepped in to support the PTA at a local primary school this festive season, contributing £500 as well as a luxury hamper for a raffle prize.
St Mary’s CE First Academy in Wheaton Aston, near Stafford are hoping to improve the school library facilities and provide replacement outdoor play equipment. The fundraising group reached out to businesses in the area for donations to help their cause, citing the importance of these resources for the mental and physical wellbeing of pupils at the school.
The group will be fundraising at multiple events in the weeks leading up to Christmas; notably the Wheaton Aston Christmas Lights Switch-On on Saturday 20th November and the annual school Christmas performance later on in December.
Shropshire Homes Ltd are currently building two, three and four-bedroom houses and bungalows at the edge of the village and were delighted to be able to help. Sales Executive Maggie Hadley visited the school this week to present the cheque as well as a food and drink hamper filled with high quality local produce.
Maggie said, “Since arriving in Wheaton Aston earlier this year, all of the Shropshire Homes team have found the village to be so friendly and welcoming. The strong sense of community here is one of the things that makes Wheaton Aston so special, and the fundraising efforts of the PTA is a perfect example.
“We are so happy to be able to contribute to this valuable cause and hope to be able to make a difference to the children at St Mary’s Academy.”
