Sales Advisors from two of Shropshire Homes’ luxury housing developments near Telford have put together a selection of festive gifts for the Christmas Smiles Project, which delivers presents to those facing difficult circumstances at Christmas time.
The project, which began in 2013 and is run by and for the local community, had been appealing for donations since the autumn, including gifts for children, teenagers and adults. The items are collected, checked, wrapped and distributed by volunteers to over 1000 recipients every year.
Lucie Watson and Maggie Hadley, from Bratton Grange in Bratton and Home Farm in Preston upon the Weald Moors, saw the appeal online and decided to get together to contribute on behalf of the property developer. Their donation included a variety of books, toys, games, cosmetics and accessories carefully chosen to appeal to a wide range of ages.
Bratton Grange Sales Advisor Lucie said, “The Christmas Smiles Project is a great example of the caring community spirit in Telford, and Maggie and I are so proud to be based here. It is a privilege to be able to support the wonderful work by all of the volunteers this Christmas time, I am sure it will bring much needed cheer to many local people.”
