Michael and Carlotta Dawson moved into their two-bedroom apartment at Leighton Park in August 2019 and have made their property into a stylish and luxurious retreat, perfect for exploring the many attractions that Shrewsbury has to offer.
Michael, who worked as a junior doctor at the former hospital from which Leighton Park was created, described the moment that they found their new home as serendipitous, “we knew that the site was being redeveloped and popped by one day to take a look. We discovered that the sales centre was open and properties were already available to view. Once we decided that we would like to purchase, we had as many site visits as we asked for and found the whole buying process very straightforward and relatively quick. The sales staff were friendly and helpful about what to expect.”
With an eye for detail and an appreciation of historical architecture, the couple are enthusiastic about the way that the design and construction teams at Shropshire Homes have preserved the period charm of the Grade II listed building, “the resulting conversion is sympathetic to the original building, with the wonderful high ceilings retained to give a light and airy feel. The oriel window in our apartment is an amazing original feature characteristic of the period.”
Like many of the visitors and residents at Leighton Park, Michael and Carlotta also enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings, “there is a parkland feel to the grounds here at Leighton Park with the green spaces and mature trees. The residents’ association, cricket club and bowling club really enhance the feeling of community, too, making it a wonderful place to spend time.
We are very happy here. Leighton Park has space, it has character, and it has convenience. What’s not to enjoy?”
Only a handful of one, two and three-bedroom properties now remain for sale at Leighton Park. Visitors are warmly welcomed by appointment, please call 01743 368766 to enquire or visit www.shropshire-homes.com.
