Shropshire Homes Assist Installation of Defib for the Local Community at Cross Houses

Defib install
20th October, 2026

This month, Shropshire Homes IT Manager, Jon Sharrock assisted with the installation of a defibrillator in the local community of Cross Houses.

As well as being our IT Manager, Jon oversees installing and monitoring the defibrillators across Shropshire Homes’ developments, in addition to providing first aid training for Shropshire Homes, and being a former First Responder for the West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Earlier this year, a defibrillator located at Shropshire Homes’ head office in Cross Houses helped save a person who suffered a cardiac arrest in The Bell pub. Fortunately, those who were with him were able to be directed to the defibrillator by the ambulance crew. The incident shook the local community and highlighted the important of defibrillators.

Springing into action, the community group known for their fundraising, Knit & Natter set out to fundraise for a defibrillator to be located at The Bell. Aware of Jon’s knowledge and expertise, the group asked Jon to help with the installation of the defibrillator which he was more than happy to do.

Jon will also be providing free defibrillator training at The Bell on Monday 26th October at 6pm.

A huge well done to all involved in the fundraising and installation.
