Our lovely home buyers at Forest Edge, Catharine and Paul have now been in their Walcott home for just under a year, so we thought it was about time we caught up with them!
Having decided to downsize, Catharine and Paul embarked on a search for their new home. After finding Forest Edge, the couple loved the small size and feel of the development, and the views across the countryside, as well as beautiful walks through the woods, and the amenities Loggerheads has to offer, including a fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, pharmacy, library, Co-op, Post Office, Indian and a local pub.
Once their minds were made up on Forest Edge becoming their new home, Catharine and Paul chose the Walcott due to its attractive layout. Paul’s favourite part of the house is the kitchen/dining room – they also both loved the kitchen choices Shropshire Homes offered. Catharine’s is the study which she has made into a cosy snug to unwind with a glass of wine, her feet up and her favourite TV programme on!
Both Catharine and Paul commented on how much they love the living room, especially how the double doors from the living room into the kitchen/dining room make the home feel free-flowing and open-plan.
Paul added, “The bedrooms are also a really good size, although our children are grown up and don’t live with us now, they still have their own bedrooms when they come to stay, which is great, especially as we have downsized.”
Catharine and Paul love the community spirit at Forest Edge, Catherine commented, “Everyone is so friendly, we know everyone and speak to our neighbours daily – there is a real community spirit which we love, and can’t imagine having that anywhere else!”.
Feeling welcomed and supported from day one of their home buying journey by Sales Executive, Ruth, Catharine and Paul described her as “amazing!”. Both agreeing nothing was ever too much trouble for Ruth and she consistently kept them updated throughout their customer journey.
The couple were also impressed with Site Manager, Liam and Assistant Site Manager, Andy, commenting “Liam and Andy were fantastic, really accommodating”.
On asking Catharine and Paul if they’d recommend Shropshire Homes, their reply was “We would definitely recommend to others, Shropshire Homes’ build is in a different league to the previous new build we bought, everyone that visits us is really complimentary of the house.”
Another welcome benefit that Catharine and Paul were keen to share was the energy cost savings they have made since moving into the Walcott, commenting “We don’t need the heating on often, last winter we just had the heating on downstairs and the whole home felt warm. It feels like we’ve always got the heating on, the insulation is that good. Our energy bills have gone down massively!”.
