Last week, we visited residents, Sally & Dave, in their new home at Foundry Point in Whitchurch.
After living in Wolverhampton for most of their lives, Sally & Dave decided they wanted to move to Shropshire for its beautiful scenery and to be closer to family. During their search to find their new home, they looked at several second-hand homes as well as other house builders.
Shropshire Homes truly stood out to the couple, Dave commented “In general Shropshire Homes shone above the rest, but particularly the great value for money. We looked at second hand and other new builds, but nothing compared in terms of reputation, finish of the properties and value for money.”
Sally & Dave were particularly drawn to Foundry Point due to the size of the development with its small and friendly feel, as well as having everything they could possibly need on their door step. Since moving in, they even said the local GP contacted them to ask for an introductory appointment (not something you often hear these days!) The outlook across the development was also a particular draw for the couple, overlooking picturesque countryside.
Sally & Dave were looking for a three-bedroom home and found the Wheaton, which is a detached version of the Wenlock, ticked all their boxes. Sally commented on their new home “I just absolutely love it, I love the kitchen, the en-suite, even having a toilet downstairs is so convenient. We have absolutely no faults whatsoever. It feels like we’re on holiday every day!”
Sally & Dave’s customer journey was a little different to other buyers as our Sales Executive at Foundry Point, Sarah, is in fact their daughter. Despite being a close family, they all commented on how smooth the process was with no arguments or disagreements at all! For us, it speaks volumes that Sarah is that confident with Shropshire Homes’ build and experience, that she recommended the company to her parents. Sarah commented, “I am honestly so confident and proud of the homes and service we provide that I had no hesitation recommending Shropshire Homes to my parents. It’s wonderful to see them so happy in their new home and a privilege to have been part of their new home journey.”
Sally & Dave also stated how lovely everyone they have encountered along their journey with Shropshire Homes has been, with a special thank you to Site Managers Phil and Andy who have thoroughly looked after them. They commented, “We had concerns about living on an ongoing development, but everyone is so friendly and pleasant, and we hardly hear any noise from site, it really doesn’t bother us at all.”
Whilst we were visiting Sally & Dave, we asked them what benefits they have found buying from Shropshire Homes and moving into their first ever new build. Both highlighted the superb finishes – Dave was particularly impressed by the tiling and doors. Sally, on the other hand, loved choosing the kitchen and was amazed by how much choice there was.
One advantage that they were especially keen to emphasise was the savings they’ve made on their energy bills, commenting “The house is so warm, we’ve hardly had to put the heating on, we’ve honestly saved hundreds! Our energy bills have gone down from £174 to £78 per month and we’ve moved from a similar size house as well.”
We were nearly at the end of our visit and the big question was looming… Would Sally & Dave buy from Shropshire Homes again? To which, they both simultaneously answered “YES, definitely!”. Following their definitive answer, Dave added “You wouldn’t find somewhere else like this, taking into account value for money, the area, quality of the built – there is just no comparison.”
